Every business has a beginning. Ours started in a kitchen, where our founder, Clay, began his career as a chef. Coming from a family of business owners, he learned early that hard work, precision, and care for others build lasting success. But when he realized that a culinary career would make family life difficult, he made a change that would shape the rest of his life.
A friend connected him with a local builder, and soon Clay discovered a new passion for creating beautiful, lasting spaces. What began with a simple paint job grew into Custom Colors Painting & Remodeling, a trusted home remodeling contractor in the MetroWest area. Over time, as skills, experience, and reputation grew, so did the business. Clients became friends, and every project was a collaboration built on respect and shared pride.
Today, with the addition of CR Custom Builders, Clay brings that same trust and craftsmanship to Cape Cod, offering custom home construction and residential design-build services for homeowners investing in their next chapter.
